Working costume from Afife
Work attire worn in the parishes of Afife, Carreço or Areosa. This costume was used on contryfield tasks such as gathering grass.
Black and white cotton stripe skirt, with black cotton checkered lining. Red handloom apron, red flanel vest, slightly embroidered shirt, side pocket. A printed cotton scarf can be worn on the chest, and an orange headscarf with fringes. Black punches to bring on the feet.
